Sunshine Media is a leading publisher of local business-to-business, syndicated custom publications and Web content throughout the United States and Canada. Annually, Sunshine Media publishes more than 1,000 unique local print editions within its network of publication titles, in addition to delivering content digitally through various dynamic media formats.

Established in 1993, MD News is a business-to-business custom magazine about physicians, from physicians, for physicians. Local editions of MD News are published across the United States and are extended through a robust national Web platform.

As a Sunshine Media Director of Web Sales, you are a part of Sunshine Media Group, an international media company made up of leaders in the business-to-business publishing, custom publishing, and e-publishing industries.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a scalable Web strategy to drive the revenue performance of the MD News Web platform
  • Write and manage a comprehensive marketing and sales plan for the brand as it exists in the digital space
  • Assist in building, growing, and supporting a sales team
  • Focus all of your efforts on revenue delivery and growth of the Web component of this mature and respected health care brand
  • Provide support for networking by promoting the brand through local trade shows and events
  • National travel (via automobile, airplane, or both) to support sales functions to meet or exceed company revenue goals
  • Report progress regularly to the Executive Vice President of Business Development and other senior leadership
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly training and sales team meetings in regional locations and/or at the company’s headquarters in Chattanooga, TN

Requirements include:

  • We are looking for experienced professionals with a proven track record of achieving business development and sales success with Web sites and digital media.
  • Experience in marketing and/or Web publishing a MUST
  • Experience in health care a PLUS
  • Extensive overnight travel 70% of the time to manage sales process within a national territory
  • The ideal candidates will have 5+ years experience in outside Web sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or similar fields

Compensation:

  • $70,000
  • Incentives: TBD

Group Publisher

As a Sunshine Media Group Publisher, you are a part of Sunshine Media Group, an international media company made up of leaders in the b-to-b publishing, custom publishing, and e-publishing industries.

Responsibilities

  • Primary focus of your efforts will be prospecting and selling advertising and custom content to hospitals, physician practices, and healthcare industry service providers to be featured in the pages of the multiple MD News editions you will represent.
  • Networking and promoting the magazine through local trade shows and events.
  • Coordinating local photo shoots and collecting strategic information to drive each magazine edition’s content strategy. 
  • Traveling extensively (via automobile, airplane, or both) in assigned local markets to execute daily sales functions of prospecting, selling, securing new business, and maintaining relationships with current clients to meet or exceed company revenue goals. 
  • Reporting progress regularly to Sunshine Media Brand Managers and executive leadership. 
  • Attending monthly training and sales team meetings in regional locations and at the company’s headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee.


Requirements

  • We are looking for sales professionals that embrace learning new things and are inspired by presenting and closing the deal.
  • Overnight travel up to 75% of the time to manage multiple markets within a territory.  
  • The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1 year experience in outside sales, healthcare sales, advertising sales, and/or publishing experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, business marketing or communications degree preferred.
